Logan Paul Addresses Accusation He Pushed Dog Off Boat in Resurfaced Video
View Date:2025-01-09 11:16:43
Logan Paul is shutting down some serious rumors.
The influencer denied harming his dog after a 2020 YouTube video resurfaced, which a social media user posted on Reddit Aug. 22, writing, “Logan Paul attempts to kill his dog by pushing it into a boat propeller for 'content' and tries to pretend it just jumped off.”
Logan shared a screenshot on X Aug. 22 from his pinned comment on the original video four years ago, which read, “clarifying in the comments: we would NEVER, EVER, EVER, push broley off the boat.”
“He jumped and a hand was behind him, petting him, and when he jumped, we attempted to grab him but FOR A FACT we did not push him,” he continued. “Watch his body language and you can very evidently see a self induced, independent jump from the little mut.”
He also posted the moment Broley jumped into the lake in slow motion.
But Logan is no stranger when it comes to being embroiled in controversy.
In fact, most recently, his and boxer KSI’s drink Prime Hydration is at the center of a string of lawsuits, including one from the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee last month, accusing it of trademark infringement. The committee alleged that the company used phrases like “Olympic,” “Olympian” and “Team USA,” according to the federal lawsuit viewed by NBC News.
NBC News had reached out to reps for the USOPC and Logan but did not hear back.
And another venture that landed him in hot water? His defunct 2021 NFT-based game CryptoZoo, which he received backlash from after participants said the game didn’t work. He announced a $2.3 million buyback program to repay participants a year after he and his associates were named in a class-action lawsuit in February 2023, per documents viewed by E! News.
But among his most infamous controversies was his 2017 video where he walked through Aokigahara, which is known for being the location of many suicides and is referred to as the "suicide forest." In the now-deleted video, he appeared to show a deceased body.
Following the major backlash, Logan apologized for his actions.
"I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgment and I don't expect to be forgiven,” he said in the 2018 YouTube video. “What we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned and the reactions you saw on tape were raw and they were unfiltered.”
"None of us knew how to react or how to feel,” he continued. “I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down, stopped recording what we were going through. There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn't and for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry."
